Created in 1897, the tournament takes place every year in mid-April at the Monte-Carlo Country Club on the exceptional courts facing the Mediterranean. The public and the players are always very enthusiastic about the prestigious venue, with players competing under a dazzling sun in one of the most beautiful places on the Riviera.

The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters is one of the main tennis tournaments – and the first competition – on a clay court. The tournament brings together fifty of the best players in the world each year for a week of competition before thousands of spectators and television viewers (the matches are broadcast in 66 countries in 5 continents).

In both singles and doubles, the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters has enthroned exceptional champions such as eight time champion (a Master 1000 record!) Rafael Nadal. The players enjoy staying at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort for the duration of the event, taking advantage of all that the Monte-Carlo SBM Resort has to offer: restaurants and gastronomy, relaxation and wellness, gaming and casinos, lounge bars and nightclubs, sporting facilities, pools, a lagoon and breathtaking views.

After many exciting developments, the tournament ends with the “Grande Nuit du Tennis” in the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo. This dinner show brings together the players and many guests for a programme that varies every year.
