The new Maserati Multi70 revealed in Monaco!

The 2016 season is off to a flying start for Giovanni Soldini and his team, with the move from their previous monohull to the new Maserati Multi70 trimaran to dock in Monte Carlo in September.

This faster, more modern craft will allow Soldini and his crew to tackle new records and compete in prestigious competitions such as the Rolex Middle Sea Race in October and the RORC Transatlantic Race in November.

Maserati returns as the main sponsor for Giovanni Soldini for the fifth year running.

After three incredibly satisfying years clocking up an impressive number of nautical miles with the monohull Maserati VOR70, Soldini and his crew will now be sailing aboard the Maserati Multi70, a cutting-edge, high-performance trimaran capable of extremely high speeds. The Maserati Multi70 has a 29m mast and measures 21.2m long and 16.8m wide.

We look forward to three challenges this season. First, in September, the Maserati Multi70 will dock in Monte Carlo before attempting to set a new reference time between Monaco and Porto Cervo, a distance of 195 nautical miles.

Then comes the second and most important challenge of the season: the Rolex Middle Sea Race. The route of 608 nautical miles begins and ends in Malta.

The third and final challenge is the RORC Transatlantic Race, scheduled to begin in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands on 26 November 2016 and marking the craft’s ocean debut. The fleet will cross the finish line in Grenada in the Caribbean after travelling around 3000 nautical miles.
