16th edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally

The 16th edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally will take place from 25 January to 1 February 2013. Here is a playful tribute to the rally’s history:

Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique 2013

Thanks to the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally we will be able to plunge once again into the atmosphere of the Monte-Carlo Rallys of the 60s and 70s. The poster of the stage that commemorates the triple victory of the Alpine-Renault berlinettes in 1973 illustrates this.

Crews for superb vintage machines from Warsaw, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Reims, Barcelona or Monaco will all be heading for Monaco with one certainty: the competition was going to be tough!

All itineraries will converge in Valence, which will be the stopover town for two nights, giving us time to criss-cross the legendary routes of Ardèche and Haute-Loire, from Burzet to Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid.

The route to Monaco, with a stopover in Gap, will also be one of the classic “Monte” stages, starting with Saint-Jean-en-Royans and ending with the Col de Corobin.

Finally, the final route will take the inevitable Col de Turini.

The Historic Monte-Carlo Rally is limited, as is customary, to cars for which similar models participated in a Monte-Carlo Rally between 1955 and 1980.
