Concerts by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo at the Prince’s Palace in Monaco

From July 12th to August 5th 2012, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo will be back to perform a series of summer concerts in the Court of Honor at the Prince’s Palace.

Initiated in 1959 under the reign of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace, the summer season staged by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra has acquired international prestige, to the delight of music-lovers in the Principality and elsewhere. The Court of Honor at the Palace is then transformed into an enchanting backdrop for these very special events.

The world’s greatest conductors and soloists have performed in the Courtyard at the Palace. Among others, one recalls pianists Cziffra, Rubinstein, Kempff, Guillels, violonists Ferras, Leonard Bernstein, cellists Rostropovitch, Menuhin, Perlman, vocalists Rita Streich, Victoria de Los Angeles, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Régine Crespin, Jessye Norman, Renée Fleming and Luciano Pavarotti.

The six concerts comprising the Summer Season will be held between July 12th and August 5th. Among other works, the Orchestra will perform compositions by Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Brahms and Beethoven.
