Grand Corps Malade, whose real name is Fabien Marsaud…

Listening to the twelve tunes on his latest album, Funambule, the lyrics just make sense: Grand Corps Malade, whose real name is Fabien Marsaud, is a language artist with a bright, exact style that is currently at its peak. The singer-songwriter chisels his songs like precious gemstones, each beautiful and fiery in its own way. Funambule is the art of storytelling – stories with a beginning, middle and end in 4 minutes flat. It’s also the art of playing with syllables and acoustics.

Hip-hop colours and a groovy beat

To create this opus, Marsaud surrounded himself with the best, including the trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf. The result is so remarkable that Ibrahim ended up composing most of the songs. Funambule sets itself apart from the three previous albums by showing its hip hop colours and a groovy beat.

The easily recognisable sound of Grand Corps Malade, the artist who has sold 1.2 million albums, will charm the spectators at the Opéra Garnier de Monte-Carlo on 29 October.
