Highlights of the 81st edition of the Monte-Carlo Rally


The driver Marc Dessi, sponsored by Monte-Carlo SBM, competed in this legendary race this year for the 31st time. Here are the highlights of this sporting event that brings together car racing professionals and fans every year.

The event involves towns and villages in the Drôme, Ardèche, Haute-Loire and Alpes-Maritimes departments. Despite the snow and difficulty of access to the tracks, supporters always turn out to cheer the drivers on.

This legendary and highly entertaining race is broadcast live on TV stations the world over.

The 81st edition of the Monte-Carlo Rally ended up with Sébastien Loeb, Sébastien Ogier and Daniel Sordo in the top 3. Along with the spectacular performance of racing car professionals, no less than 45 amateur drivers participated in the 465 km of timed events.

Marc Dessi, a European casino games employee at the Casino de Monte-Carlo who is passionate about car racing, has competed for the 31st time with his daughter Vanessa as co-driver!

At the wheel of a 140-horsepower Suzuki Swift, Marc Dessi and his daughter placed 41st, a tremendous sporting achievement with the tough weather conditions this year.


Marc Dessi drove a car with the Monte-Carlo SBM colours, proud to represent the Société des Bains de Mer, his employer since 1976. Monte-Carlo SBM will celebrate its 150th anniversary this year!
