As part of the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival, the genius composer Marcus Miller will take the stage at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo on Saturday 24 November 2012 at 8:30 pm. Opening act: Ibrahim Maalouf.

With 35 years of career behind him, Marcus Miller plays several instruments (clarinet, bass clarinet, bass) as well as being a sideman and a producer.

The list of his musical collaborations is long and prestigious (George Benson, Miles Davis, Al Jarreau, Herbie Hancock, Claude Nougaro, David Sanborn and more).


With his album Renaissance, released this spring, the funk bassist made a comeback after a five year break.

Under this self-evident title lie an amazing expressiveness and a sound that alternates between saturation and sobriety that you can discover him at the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival

The influences of Ibrahim Maalouf, a trumpeter and musician hailing from Lebanon, go well beyond his native Middle-East and include Ottoman Sufi music, classic Arab, jazz, electro, Balkan music, South American music and even rap and heavy metal.
After Diasporas et Diachronism, the musician bares all and in his last work, Diagnostic, shows exceptional profoundness that touches the very depths of our souls.
