Printemps des Arts 2010



Concert, evenings on special thermes, a surprise day, composers rediscovered…, this festival unlike any other brings new vitality to music and touches the widest possible audience.

Discover the program*:

- March 15th, 16th, 17th : Outside the Walls.
Like a preview of what is to come, the first three concerts mark the opening of the “Hors les Murs” festival. The great romantic composer Johannes Brahms is the central figure.

- March 18th, 19th, 20th, 21th: Do you like Brahms?
Brahms is one of the most famous romantic composers. His work for piano is the symbol of his search between past and invention. He is an inconscious adventurer!

- March 24th, 25th, 26th: Music of Soul.
Music claimed to be a science at the end of the Middle Ages: an idealistic science presenting God’s perfect harmony on Earth.

- March 27th: Surprising Night
On this special evening we will find “metal” music, classical music performed by a “rock” band, a truly alternative fashion show and a musical ensemble playing “vegetables”.

- March 28th, 29th and April 1st: Around the Russian Ballets.
Travel back in time with Stravinsky, Ravel, Mussorgsky…

- March 28th, 30th, 31st and April 3rd: Do you like Ravel?
With his works with “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges” and the Ballets Russes, Ravel had close links with Monte-Carlo.

- April 2nd: Percussions of the World.
An incredible performance by a whole range of world musicians.

- April 4th: Surprise Journey.
Always innovating, always surprising…our lips are sealed!

- April 5th: Do you like Ballet?
Discover 4 world premiere of young composers and choreographers.

- March 20th and April 6th: A Lachenmann’s Portrait.
Lachenmann is a contemporary German composer, Caustic and particularly unexpected.
