Rose Ball – Monaco Town 2011

Bal_rose_GF-2Under the presidency of HSH the Sovereign Prince and HRH the Princess of Hanover, in aid of the Princess Grace Foundation, the 2011 edition of the prestigious “Bal de la Rose” invites you to immerse yourself in the America of the 1960′s – 1970′s, to the beat of Soul Music.

Rendez-vous on Saturday, March 19th, from 8 p.m. in the Salle des Étoiles (Sporting Monte Carlo) for a trip that will whisk you off to discover the Motown label, a record label linked to the city of Detroit which succeeded in propelling black performers to the forefront of the international scene. The decor reflects the atmosphere typical of Detroit with its abandoned factories, spectacular broken windows, brick and metal walls, all effectively stylised in black and white. This “rough and raw” aspect will contrast with the glamor of the tables, sequined tablecloths and delicate flowers in vases recalling the buildings’ architecture.

The evening will thus be dedicated to the history of Motown, a record label that introduced black performers as legendary as the Jackson Five, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder to the public, and was responsible for their success.

These iconic figures helped to give a new face to the black community and influenced the daily lives of many of their contemporaries. Dinner will commence at 9 p.m. with a show alternating movie tributes and musical  interludes. In order to participate in this exceptional evening, we invite you to complete the reply coupon which can also be used to reserve your hotel.
