Snow Chic by Monte-Carlo: the Place du Casino takes on the form of a ski resort

From 2 December 2016 to 7 January 2017, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer will convert Monte-Carlo’s Place du Casino into a glamorous ski resort.

 Place du Casino

Spectacular lighting with a mountain theme

Young and old alike will be in amazed by the decorations at the Monte-Carlo‘s Place du Casino! Monaco’s most central location will be offering a delightful light show with the theme “Snow Chic by Monte-Carlo”. For this year’s theme, the Monte-Carlo Pavilions fountain will be converted into a giant snow globe, which is bound to be one of the location’s chief attractions. Decorations will also include an array of prestigious vintage elements with the mountain theme in an elegant yet casual atmosphere. Snow-topped pine trees and gondola lifts revisited by luxury brands will add the finishing touches to the decor, while renowned cheese-maker Bernard Mure-Ravaud, voted Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2007, will offer tastings of rare cheeses such as Termignon blue cheese or alpine pasture Beautort at the Café de Paris Brasserie.

Holiday shopping and a festive Christmas market

Take a stroll down the beautifully decorated Monte-Carlo Shopping Promenade: the Monte-Carlo Shopping Pavilions, Square Beaumarchais, Avenue de Monte-Carlo and Allée François Blanc all offer a wide selection of original gifts. Slalom between the Christmas shops and stands, then stop for afternoon tea with a delightful all-chocolate gourmet holiday theme at the Salle Belle Epoque at the Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

If you like refined desserts, you’ll love the Chestnut Yule Log (for take-away). The recipe was created by the Pastry Chef of the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo, who was inspired by the memory of childhood walks in the forest in designing this award-winning recipe. Enjoy a breath of fresh country air with this delightful recipe of mandarin orange compote, light chestnut mousse on a praline biscuit with pine nuts.

A Michelin-starred gourmet experience

The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is taking on the form of a ski resort during the entire month of December. It’s perfect for fun with family or to feel like a kid again – come see for yourself! First stop, L’Orange Verte: a gondola lift has been set up on the terrace, offering the perfect place to enjoy a drink in the heart of a pine forest before continuing your stroll to the log cabins for hot chocolate and home-made waffles. Then on to the restaurant Las Brisas, where snow and sea come together to form a unique landscape, and a few laps on the pop-up ice skating rink. Oh, is that the time? A 4-course menu by Michelin-starred Chef Marcel Ravin is next!

Feel the magic

To usher in the new year with style, various Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer establishments are offering their unique take on the magic of the holiday season. The Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo proposes an unforgettable New Year’s line-up with the trio Il Volo for an exciting night of pop opera music. Monaco casinos will be offering tinted champagne glasses while the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort will be putting on a magical fireworks display, which, for the first time ever, will take place directly on the Blue Gin terrace. On 1 January, for the first get-togethers of the new year with family and friends, we recommend brunch at the Salle Empire of the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo or the Salle Belle Epoque of the Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.
