The Monte-Carlo Bay and the Monte-Carlo Beach renew their Green Globe certification

On 2 June 2016, the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort and the Monte-Carlo Beach Relais et Châteaux received the prestigious environmental Green Globe certification for the third year in a row.

Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s sustainable development policy

Obtaining this internationally recognised certification is part of the sustainable development policy initiated by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer in 2007. The Group currently has three Green Globe certified sites: the Monte-Carlo Bay and the Monte-Carlo Beach since 2014, and Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo since January 2016.

Certification as part of a continuous improvement plan

Green Globe is a certification programme designed for the travel and luxury tourism industry. It sets out standards in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and requires that certified establishments seeking renewal show continuous improvement in their policies.

A very committed staff

The two hotels have their own environmental guidelines and teams dedicated to bringing about long-lasting change by way of actions specific to each establishment.

The Monte-Carlo Bay is very active through its “Bay Be Green Team”. Some of the many steps it has taken include installing 100% energy-saving lighting, encouraging the use of eco-friendly means of transportation, reducing water consumption and working towards efficient waste management. The establishment is fully committed to social responsibility, as can be seen through its many actions in favour of charity organisations.

The Monte-Carlo Beach, thanks to its “ Beach Green Spirit Team”, has been implementing actions in environmental management, particularly its feature programme, “Beach goes Bio!” With the help of the “100% organic restaurant business” certification for the restaurant Elsa, Chef Paolo Sari offers entirely organic menus, thus promoting locally grown fruits and vegetables.

All of these actions are part of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s sustainable development strategy. This strategy, which echoes Monaco’s commitment, aims to adopt an actively responsible approach and promote these commitments to customers and partners.
