Boy George and Culture Club changed the very face of the 1980s!
Since their debut in 1981, Culture Club has sold more than 50 million albums the world over, with tracks such as “Karma Chameleon”, “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya” and the excellent “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me”, a lamenting neo-reggae song that gave Culture Club renown in the four corners of the globe. The opus sold five million copies, a million in the US alone.
The band is led by singer/composer Boy George, universally recognised as a music icon. In 2015, he was awarded the Ivor Novello prize in recognition of his work and contribution to the British music industry. Boy George was joined by Roy Hay, Mikey Craig and Jon Moss to reform Culture Club during a world tour, which took place in Europe and North America in 2018.
Since their reformation and some recent concerts, the press is unanimous: “Culture Club is an exceptional band, led by a true master. If you like going out, if you like feeling good, if you like to be transported by music, if you’re seeking authenticity in a world that’s become too fake, then this concert is for you!” Bob Lefsetz (For the concert at Greek Theatre in 2015).
