Every year, the Rainier III Academy opens the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival with a concert, at the invitation of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. This tradition keeps the spirit of jazz alive in the Principality, passing it down through the generations.
The Rainier III Academy carries out educational, cultural, and artistic initiatives for a wide audience. Since the start of the 2011 school year, jazz and contemporary music have been taught there in a dedicated department.
Since music is an art of sharing, the institution has placed ensemble playing at the heart of its teaching methodology. For some thirty aspiring musicians, this concert is therefore an opportunity to perform under professional conditions.
This evening will feature students from the jazz and contemporary music department, accompanied by their teachers, in the prestigious setting of the Salle Garnier at the Monte-Carlo Opera.
Discover new talents through a repertoire ranging from jazz to pop music. In previous editions, students have performed classic standards by Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, and Jill Scott, as well as popular hits such as “Roxanne” by Sting and “Sunny” by Bobby Hebb.
