Do you know Jean Boghossian? An artist who draws his inspiration from the sea and his roots. Dive into the heart of his creative techniques and discover his various exhibitions on this occasion.

Jean Boghossian and the sea :

An Armenian living in Lebanon, then in Belgium, Jean Boghossian is a painter and sculptor. He experiments with fire and smoke on different supports and materials. His attachment and passion for the sea have become a real commitment to the preservation of marine spaces. "The sea and ecology, the ocean with all its animal and plant marine life, which is itself ultimately a source of life." A source of life but also a source of creation for the multidisciplinary artist.

An isthmus between Brussels and Monaco :

From his balcony, Jean Boghossian can see the sailing boats going out to sea. An inspiration but also an echo to the theme of 'The Sea is Green'. This project was born out of the evolution of the artist's work with paint, smoke, burning and collage. The sails are made of canvas with curved triangular shapes recovered from the Atomium in Brussels, an iconic monument built for the 1958 Universal Exhibition. These plaques were offered to Jean Boghossian as a tribute to his previous works in favour of Contemporary Art.

Marked works:

A regatta on a green sea, painted sails stretched out in Atomium and canvas reflect the azure blue. On the occasion of 'The Sea is Green', various urban exhibition spaces will be dressed with works by Jean Boghossian. "Monaco vibrates around artistic life", in the lawns of the Jardins des Boulingrins and Square Beaumarchais, Avenue de Monte-Carlo and outside the Carré d'Or. At One Monte Carlo, the sails will be mobile and will evolve around several pylons, again worked with smoke, fire and paint.

Works of art are also present inside!

At the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, experts and lovers of Contemporary Art will be able to stroll through the lobby, the corridors or under the Eiffel glass roof of the winter garden. Jean Boghossian will propose an immersion on the theme of the sea with thirty or so real or imaginary ceramic shells and waves in the colours of 'The Sea Is Green'. There will also be a time for meetings and exchanges with the Ocean Week organised by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, from 20 to 26 March 2023. For the press and participants, a visit of the artistic installation will be organised and led by the artist Jean Boghossian.
