With Chris White, sax player in the original band, The Dire Straits Experience replays one of rock's most elegant and narrative repertoires, that of Mark Knopfler's band.
Forty-five years ago, the audience discovered Mark Knopfler's finger-picking in the hit Sultans of Swing, giving his playing unrivalled fluidity. Although Dire Straits have since bowed out after 18 years on stage, their legacy has spread with over 120 million albums sold worldwide and to a young generation of fans, won over by this musical universe where rock incorporates influences from blues, folk and even Celtic accents into its narrative moods. To give the audience the chance to experience the spirit of concerts such as 1985's Live at Wembley, and the energy of the brilliant albums that made the band famous in the 1980s, The Dire Straits Experience rekindles the flame. Chris White, member of the group since the beginning and whose saxophone is something of the soul of Dire Straits, has joined up with exceptional musicians such as Terence Reis, who perfectly embodies the guitar playing and singing of Knopfler without falling into imitation, as well as Richard Barret (guitars, singing), John Maul (piano, organ, keyboards), Michael Bramwell (piano, organ, keyboards), Yoyo Buys (guitar, basses, singing) and Luc Naimi (drums). From Money for Nothing to Private Investigations, including Brothers in Arms and Romeo and Juliet, The Dire Straits Experience takes over the Monegasque stage before embarking on a large French tour in the autumn.
