Monte-Carlo International Show Jumping event: a passion for riding

Monaco and horse-riding is more than just a match, it's a true love story! It all started over 15 years ago when Diane Fissore, President of the event, and Jan Tops, Olympic champion, came together to make Monaco join the Longines Global Champions Tour, the horse-riding world championship. Every year, the best riders on the planet take to the stage for three days at Port Hercules which turns into an equestrian stadium.

To make sure the event can run smoothly, the locals honor the name of the port with their Herculean effort. They bring tons of equestrian sand, turn the port into stables, care for the horses, etc. Monaco is the only place where you can admire top-level horse-riding surrounded by the most beautiful yachts in the world! This event allows fans to see young riders and seasoned pros team up in a thrilling CSI-level challenge.

An outstanding horse-riding competition, a breathtaking show

Take a seat in the stands to watch this grand event alongside H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Caroline as well as many other famous personalities who rush to watch the competition every year. Let the show begin! The amateur events are held during the day with the top-tier riders taking to the stage in the evening. The 30 best riders of the series as well as those with a “wild card” take part in the Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco. The Grand Prix is held on the Saturday and is the highlight of Jumping in Monaco.

Just like in the Formula 1 Grand Prix, this event is known worldwide for its short, narrow tracks and tight corners, but with many obstacles to overcome as well. Competitors therefore have to be on top of their game and display technical mastery and prowess to finish first and take the trophy. Whether you are new to horse-riding or an expert in the field, this event is sure to get your blood pumping! Images from the event are shared globally, showcasing the beauty of Monaco and the excitement of each race.

Pro-Am Cup, the other must-see event

Over the three days of competition, another prestigious event, sponsored by Charlotte Casiraghi, takes place: the Pro-Am Cup. Created in 2010, this unique relay race brings together professional and amateur riders in a breathtaking time-trial. Through this event, Charlotte Casiraghi highlighted the team spirit and transmission between professional and amateur riders, in an atmosphere that was both friendly and competitive.

A city buzzing with excitement

Between two trials, the Monte-Carlo International Show Jumping event lets you meet the greatest names in the sport. The event takes place just a few minutes from Monaco’s harbor, offering VIP access to stunning views and premium seating areas. Customers can also take advantage of discounted seats in the Silver or Gold categories under certain conditions, offering excellent view of the arena. Take a walk towards the Village shops and admire the horses and their riders next to the training paddock.

This equestrian escapade is also an opportunity to enjoy the many pleasures the Principality of Monaco has to offer. You can book a room at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Monte-Carlo Beach or Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Go on a shopping spree at one of the luxury boutiques of the One Monte-Carlo, discover the mythical Place du Casino and enjoy the Casino Café de Paris and the Casino de Monte-Carlo, two iconic places for fun and games. Enjoy a delicious meal at one of Monaco's many Michelin-starred restaurants.
