An outpouring of solidarity for the Princess Grace Hospital Centre

United we stand: these words become all the more meaningful when they are put into action. For several weeks now, employees at Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer have been doing just that, by delivering outpourings of support to personnel at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre and two retirement homes.

A fund for personnel at Monaco Hospital

Health care workers, who have been on the front lines since the start of the crisis, have had a particularly tough time of it during this period. In recognition of all the hard work done by everyone at Monaco Hospital, employees of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer put together a fund for the Princess Grace Hospital Centre and two retirement homes, Le Cap Fleuri and A Qietüdine de Monaco.

In just 10 days, more than 200 employees collected more than 9,000 euros for the fund. The chairman of Monte-Carlo SBM, Jean-Luc Biamonti, personally joined in the effort.

With the funds collected, the initial goal had been reached.

Some 1,680 gift packages were carefully prepared and distributed to each hospital staffmember, regardless of their position.  Each package contained a lemon cake made by a team of volunteer employees, based on a recipe by Chef MOF Philippe Joannes and his team, along with an assortment of jams from Stéphan Perrotte (the top jam maker in France), some rose and lily-of-the-valley, and a collection of itineraries put together by our Clefs d’Or concierges, to remind them that Monaco will one day return to being a magnificent, inviting destination.

High off their success, the group went beyond their initial pledge, making 1,900 lemon cakes over four days. Employees from the Safety & Security Department of Monte-Carlo SBM, who’ve been hard at work since the first day of the crisis, also received a show of gratitude for their daily presence at every site.

The most delicious panettone of all...

...can of course be found at Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse, a Michelin-starred restaurant at the Hôtel de Paris. In fact, this delicate brioche is one of its signature dishes. Ordinarily, this sugary souvenir is given to every guest upon leaving the restaurant, but this time, our chefs have whipped up a batch and given them to all the health care workers at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre. A great way to thank all the people who have fought tirelessly for us, and who could use a well-deserved moment of comfort.
