A unique history
Built on the model of the Bordeaux wine cellars, the cellars were dug into the rock in 1874 on the visionary initiative of Marie Blanc, wife of the founder of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Today, the cellars have a unique historic character, having welcomed a number of prestigious guests over the decades, including Winston Churchill in 1945 and Princess Grace, who celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary here.
