A meeting place par excellence for lovers of the arts, Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo offers a cultural and creative programme designed to surprise and enthral. Maison Schiaparelli, Phyltres... this spring, a series of events around the artistic theme "Blue, Pink, Red", the emblematic colours of the Riviera, will feed your curiosity and your senses.
16 May, in the Salle Eiffel at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo
Contemporary fashion owes a great deal to Elsa Schiaparelli. The founder of the house of the same name came up with a host of inventions, revolutionising sportswear, haute couture and perfumes. Her projects working with Cocteau, Man Ray, Giacometti and Dalí brought fashion and the arts closer together. From the 1920s to the 1950s, before a renaissance in the 2010s, Schiaparelli was synonymous with elegance, authenticity and creativity.
Projects with the artists of her time, such as Dali and Man Ray, the creation of clothes with iconic designs (particularly trompe-l'œil), perfumes, etc. Elsa Schiaparelli, who founded the house of the same name in 1927, was a source of inspiration for contemporary fashion. Now a symbol of luxury that blends the authenticity of haute couture with the modernity of prêt-à-porter, the house is run by Delphine Bellini, who will be presenting the history of the label at a conference in the Salle Eiffel at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. In the company of Francesco Pastore, Schiaparelli's heritage director, she will look back at the history and secrets of a legendary house.
On 4 May, in the Salle Eiffel at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo
The hallmark of the Phyltres cosmetics brand is its creativity and authenticity. Its "beauty shots" and products based on Damask rose grown in France are still going strong. Corinne Peronne, founder of Phyltres, will talk about the benefits of this medicinal plant. Those who want to extend the experience can choose from a range of Phyltres products, including the signature French rose treatment created by French champion massage Caty Cissoko.
This spring, in the Lobby of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo
Blue, pink, red... for thirteen weeks, the lobby of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo will be decked out in floral decorations created by its long-standing partner, Monegasque florist Traverso. Three colours that weren't chosen by chance. Blue as a tribute to the Mediterranean Sea and the sparkling bay, but also the blue of the cornflowers that carpet Monaco's gardens in May, the pink of sunsets, the red of fine wines, theatre curtains and Formula 1 racing...
And the importance of colour in art is also celebrated with a Colour Library in the lobby. Michel Pastoureau, Pascal Ory and Jérôme Serri, each one a colour expert, are among the authors of this selection of reference works designed to reveal everything there is to know about the art of colour, its history and the meaning of each nuance.
30 April & 1 May, in the Kids room of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo
Davide D'Alessandro is an artist from Marseille who likes to share his taste for Mediterranean scenes. Especially with young audiences. On 30 April & 1 May, he will be leading a new children’s workshop in the hotel revolving around an exciting motif: the Mediterranean octopus.
