Founded in 1997, the Association des archives audiovisuelles (Audiovisual Archives Association) of the Principality of Monaco became the Institut audiovisuel de Monaco (Monaco Audiovisual Institute) in August 2018.

Its purpose is to list, gather, restore, protect, conserve, share and promote audiovisual archives.

The Institut audiovisuel de Monaco and the Archives du Palais de Monaco (Palace of Monaco Archives) will be giving a cross-disciplinary talk on the principality’s history, based on the theme of Monaco and the sea.

The story this film conference will tell is one of an entire principality looking out towards the sea, based on many archives of images, sound recordings and films, whether professional or amateur.

Several Monaco-based organisations will be given prominence during this conference.
