The director of the Académie Monégasque de la Mer likes to pass on his knowledge, his values and his passion.
For 'The Sea is Green', Pierre Frolla will accompany Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer as a figure who exemplifies the values of the group that will be highlighted during this period.
A key player in the 'The Sea is Green' programming is Jean Boghossian, an abstract multidisciplinary artist whose works all bear, to varying degrees, traces of degradation by burning. Through the process of deliberate damage and the use of a blowtorch instead of a brush, Boghossian raises the question of what it means to create inextinguishable art with an invasive and violent, yet poetic method.
From 10 March to 10 May, see an exhibition that pays tribute to 'The Sea is Green' installed in the gardens and urban spaces of Monte-Carlo. Discover this work in different places: on the lawn of the Jardins des Boulingrins where, on 11 pillars, aluminium and steel sails will be hung. They will be worked with smoke and paint. At One Monte Carlo, the sails will be mobile and again worked with smoke, fire and paint. They will move around several pylons.
From 10 March et 10 May, enjoy another Jean Boghossian exhibition, this time of marine ceramics, at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. The 'Hôtel des Connoisseurs' will display 20 to 30 exceptional ceramic shells in the lobby, the main corridor and the Winter Garden under the Eiffel dome.
This inaugural event of "The Sea is Green" programme opens with the presentation of the Jean Boghossian exhibition by the artist himself. This is followed by a dinner recital by Monegasque piano prodigy, Stella Almondo, organised at the Winter Garden of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, with menu by Chef Yannick Alléno. Renowned music journalist, David Abiker, will orchestrate the evening, which will be broadcast the following day on Radio Classique. Discover the event on Saturday 11 March!

Exhibition of marine ceramics by Jean Boghossian | The Hôtel des Connaisseurs will host an exhibition of the artist's marine ceramics from 10 March to 10 May. 20 to 30 exceptional shells associated with ceramic work will be displayed in the lobby, the main corridor and the winter garden under the Eiffel dome.
This art installation, created by Céline Pagès and Madame Ernest, is housed in the Atrium of the Casino de Monte-Carlo and offers an immersive experience using recycled materials. The customer's journey is enriched by the curiosity of movement and the effects of transparency obtained thanks to the light of the glass roof. As for green, the dominant colour of the installation, its hues are symbols of luck!
The dome of the largest jellyfish opens and closes in a swimming motion and this movement spreads naturally to the filaments. The impulse is caused by a metal structure and small individual motorizations. No less than 9 jellyfish will be animated at a height of 5 metres. Opposite the jellyfish, the space on the ground is occupied by 4 gorgons, each representing a suit in deck of cards: spades, clubs, diamonds and hearts, daily from 12pm from 10 March to 10 May 2023.
