Summary
A legendary spot in the Port of Monaco, La Rascasse is set to change its vibe without losing its soul. The venue is transforming into an elegant, next-generation sports bar—more contemporary and sophisticated, yet retaining the spontaneous warmth that has made it legendary. Closed since January 5, La Rascasse reopened its doors on April 9.
La Rascasse underwent a transformation this winter and is now unveiling its new look at the start of spring. A bar dedicated to sports and partying, Port Hercule’s most famous venue—located at the most iconic turn of the Monaco Grand Prix—now pulses to the rhythm of the biggest sporting events.
After three months of renovation, La Rascasse has reinvented itself. The venue, located at the heart of the most famous turn of the Monaco Grand Prix, has become a chic, laid-back, and vibrant sports bar—a place to watch a race or a game, linger over an aperitif, celebrate a victory, or simply soak up the unique thrill that Monaco knows how to orchestrate.
Defining the bar in the spirit of Monte Carlo while preserving the vibrant, nocturnal energy unique to the venue—this is La Rascasse 2026, inspired by Formula 1 and motorsports.

To bring this new world to life, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer enlisted local architect Quentin Chiai, who boldly reimagines racing symbols: car headlights on the ceiling, a deconstructed engine suspended from the ceiling, a checkerboard floor… A design that also plays with warm hues to create an enveloping and welcoming atmosphere, designed to evolve as the evening progresses: relaxed during after-work hours, more festive as the night wears on.
On the menu, cocktails and finger food are meant to be shared, like one last lap.

The bar and adjacent spaces are highlighted, while the lighting design creates an almost cinematic effect, like a Grand Prix start in a lounge setting. The goal is also functional: prioritizing capacity and mobility, notably by limiting seating on the ground floor to keep traffic flowing and allow the space to breathe.
Upstairs, the atmosphere changes: more subdued, more cozy, designed for aperitifs, groups, and the events that punctuate the year. The terrace, too, has been redesigned to better manage incoming traffic without encroaching on the sidewalk.
With this new identity, La Rascasse reaffirms its position as an essential part of Monegasque life, at the intersection of sports, celebration, and camaraderie. This successful transformation blends modernity, immersion, and iconic heritage to offer a fresh experience in the heart of Port Hercule.

Cette venue constitue « un moment historique pour Monaco » et « un signe fort d’espérance » qui « s’inscrit dans la continuité des liens séculaires qui unissent la dynastie des Grimaldi aux Successeurs de Pierre », note le Palais princier.
