The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1936 by the violinist Bronislaw Huberman. It is a combination of 110 musicians, more than half of whom were born in Israel. They perform in the major cities of the Hebrew State, with almost 200 concerts every year and often touring the world. Their repertoire includes well-known compositions by Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn.
