The SPA at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is charting a new course, and will now be offering the Clarins & myBlend brands from 4th April. By drawing on each other’s strengths, the two brands promise to deliver a bespoke, overall sense of wellbeing alongside innovative technology.
A leading beauty brand for over 70 years, Clarins unites its vision and know-how around three key concepts: innovation, sustainability and expertise.
Working in synergy with treatments, light therapy is the new star of 2025. With its already iconic LED mask, myBlend uses this technology to serve our beauty goals.
Dr Olivier Courtin, Managing Director of the Clarins Group and founder of myBlend, explains.
What are the differences between Clarins and myBlend?
Dr Olivier Courtin: Clarins and myBlend take different approaches to beauty. Clarins relies on the science of plants in particular, combining botanical extracts with expertise in phytocosmetology to offer natural, sensorial skincare products. myBlend adopts a high-tech approach, combining biotechnology, peptides and reference molecules (vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid) for targeted, high-performance action on the skin. And while Clarins is an expert in cosmetic skincare, myBlend has adopted a 360-degree ecosystem that combines all of the most effective, non-invasive solutions for beautiful skin (nutricosmetics, dermocosmetics and beauty tech).
Are there Clarins customers and myBlend customers?
Dr Olivier Courtin: I’d even go so far as to say there are Clarins, Clarins Precious and myBlend customers.
Clarins is a cross-generational brand, whose broad and universal range appeals to people of all ages. Rooted in botanical expertise and skincare, it accompanies women through every stage of their lives with accessible, effective and reassuring products.
Clarins Precious is designed for women who are looking for refined luxury that is both visually elegant yet discreet. As someone who appreciates wonderful stories, she indulges in a dream world while nonetheless demanding proven effectiveness. She is looking for exclusivity and rare, precious skincare with intense and sophisticated sensory qualities.
myBlend targets women for whom beauty is a holistic approach to wellbeing. Experienced and demanding, they seek ultra-efficient, safe and innovative solutions without compromising on sensory pleasure. These customers are curious and well-informed, have tested many alternatives and prefer specialised treatments that are part of a holistic approach.
Are Clarins skincare treatments and myBlend products complementary?
Dr Olivier Courtin: Clarins treatments are based on the ‘Art of Touch’, an expert technique in which the facialist uses the weight and precision of her hands to stimulate microcirculation and lymphatic drainage to foster radiant skin and a deep sense of wellbeing.
Clarins Precious combines the Clarins Professional Method with ancient Asian techniques to immediately alleviate facial micro-tensions for visibly smoother, more relaxed skin.
myBlend, on the other hand, incorporates technologies inspired by aesthetic medicine, such as LED light therapy and electrostimulation, and combines them with deep massage techniques based on neuroscience.
How does the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort reflect the values of Clarins & myBlend?
Dr Olivier Courtin: We are a French family business driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a quest for constant innovation, which we use to promote responsible beauty around the world. The story of Clarins began over 70 years ago, when my father, Jacques Courtin, had a vision of modern cosmetics that would serve the beauty goals and overall wellbeing of women everywhere. By creating myBlend, I have added my own vision of the beauty of tomorrow: premium, personalised, global and high-tech. Our expertise in skincare and make-up is now recognised in France and internationally: with our two brands, Clarins and myBlend, we are now ambassadors of French cosmetic excellence.
Will there be any innovative or ‘signature’ treatments offered at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort?
Dr Olivier Courtin: At myBlend, we’ll be offering a complete range of face and body treatments: not just our synergistic treatments that make the myBlend difference, but body massages with a strong holistic dimension, too.
For the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, myBlend has developed an exclusive treatment card designed to offer an ultra-personalised experience that meets the most demanding of standards. Unlike our classic range, which is structured around the Expert (90 min), Essential (60 min) and Express (30 min) treatments, this special card includes bespoke treatments such as our Revitalising Expert Treatment or our Remodelling Expert Treatment.
Each treatment combines specific technology – LED light therapy, electrostimulation, cryotherapy – with a cutting-edge selection of myBlend products, guaranteeing a targeted response to the skin’s needs. This approach ensures maximum efficiency, while adapting to the individual expectations of Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort guests, who are looking for exceptional treatments that combine innovation with top-of-the-range expertise.
myBlend claims to have a holistic approach. What does this mean?
Dr Olivier Courtin: I believe that beauty is about more than the products we apply to our skin. It is also nourished from within and can draw strength from the most advanced technologies. That’s why myBlend takes a holistic approach, combining all non-invasive solutions that have been scientifically proven to work on the skin.
Our pro-collagen nutricosmetics work deep down, because beauty starts from within. We have a complete range of dermocosmetics based on peptides and reference molecules to target the skin’s specific needs. Finally, our beauty tech, featuring technology such as LED light therapy, optimises the results of the cosmetic treatments used.
At myBlend, every skincare product, every formula and every technology is designed to work in synergy to offer a holistic response to the skin’s emotions.
Will red-light treatments be offered at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort spa?
Dr Olivier Courtin: Of course! Our signature myBlend face and body treatment uses the benefits of red light via our LED mask, a technology that originated in aesthetic medicine clinics. This light stimulates the production of collagen, promoting both cellular regeneration and relaxation. Combined with our touch techniques and highly concentrated skincare formulas, it enhances the effectiveness of the protocol.
Can you tell us a bit about how the myLEDmask was created?
Dr Olivier Courtin: I am a qualified orthopaedic surgeon. While working as the clinical head of Foch Hospital in Suresnes, I discovered that red light promoted healing in some of my patients. In fact, I’ve even made it part of my own personal care regime for its regenerating properties.
When I started working on the launch of myBlend, I immediately imagined making this technology accessible to as many people as possible.
To develop myLEDmask, I worked with an expert in laser therapy and LED light, Dr François Michel, who advised me on the best parameters to use. I also called on a French design office and a cutting-edge electronics systems integrator to help me develop this unique mask.
Will the mask be available to purchase alongside Clarins and myBlend skincare products?
Dr Olivier Courtin: Absolutely! The entire myBlend range will be available to purchase at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, including the myLEDmask, which has been our bestseller for the last two years.
