The SPA Clarins & myBlend at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort defines a beauty that draws on research to better reveal itself. A beauty-tech innovation is attracting all eyes: myLEDmask, the myBlend LED face and neck mask, offered as an exclusive treatment at the spa and also available for purchase to extend the experience at home.
Summary:
1. Red, the colour of regeneration
2. A 100% French innovation, calibrated to the millimetre
3. Visible and measurable results
5. From the cabin to the home: extending the Monte Carlo signature
Over time, UV rays, stress, pollution and lack of sleep accelerate skin ageing: wrinkles and fine lines become more pronounced, the oval of the face slackens and the complexion loses its radiance. myLEDmask acts deep within the skin using ‘photobiomodulation’, a technology that uses light to stimulate the skin's natural regeneration mechanisms.
The mask combines 288 red and infrared LEDs distributed across the face and neck. The red LEDs, with continuous light, target the epidermis to revive radiance. The infrared LEDs, with pulsed light, penetrate deeper into the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin. The result: a comprehensive action on firmness, skin texture and radiance. The skin is regenerated.

Designed and assembled entirely in France, myLEDmask is the result of genuine engineering expertise, usually reserved for aeronautics, advanced automotive technology and medical devices. Each parameter (power, duration, frequency) is calibrated to deliver 4 joules/cm², the optimal dose of light energy to trigger the best cellular response, without overheating or discomfort.
The myBlend mask is the only face + neck model with three programmes tailored to different skin types (fair, mixed race, dark). This personalisation ensures maximum effectiveness while respecting the sensitivity of each skin tone. All skin types can therefore benefit from the power of light.

The brand has conducted several independent clinical studies to prove the effectiveness of myLEDmask. According to myBlend, after one month of use, at a rate of three to four sessions per week, skin appears on average three years younger. Wrinkles are half as visible and 83% of users notice a more radiant complexion.
The research goes further by exploring the field of neuroscience. By analysing heart rate, voice tone and brain activity (EEG), myBlend has shown that myLEDmask sessions promote twice as fast and deeper relaxation after 28 days. The mask thus becomes a true ritual of letting go, both for the mind and the skin.

At the SPA Clarins & myBlend at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, myLEDmask is part of a holistic experience, where cutting-edge technology combines with expert techniques. The treatment begins with a personalised diagnosis: skin condition, lifestyle, specific expectations. The practitioner then selects the appropriate programme and combines the LED mask with highly concentrated myBlend serums, rich in regenerating peptides and anti-ageing active ingredients.
At the end of the session, the mask with 288 small red lights moulds to the contours of the face and neck. Then it's time for 5 minutes of light therapy: the skin warms up very slightly and a feeling of well-being washes over you. At the end of the treatment, the complexion is visibly fresher, signs of fatigue are reduced and the skin appears plumped up from within.
At the SPA Clarins & myBlend at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, myLEDmask is offered in a variety of treatments. Five minutes for those in a hurry, 30 minutes with the ‘express facial treatment – LED mask discovery’ or as part of a comprehensive experience, where high technology meets expert technique. In the latter treatment, the practitioner begins with a personalised diagnosis: skin condition, lifestyle, specific expectations. She then selects the appropriate programme and combines the LED mask with highly concentrated myBlend serums, rich in regenerating peptides and anti-ageing active ingredients.

And because regularity is key to effectiveness, the mask is also available for purchase at the SPA Clarins & myBlend boutique so you can prolong the experience at home and even share it with your family.
Experts recommend using it for five minutes every other day for six to eight weeks, followed by a one-month break.
Whether used as a treatment or occasionally before a night out or special event, the mask is a valuable ally for achieving a radiant complexion and long-lasting effects.

An orthopaedic surgeon by training, CEO of the Clarins Group and founder of the myBlend brand, Dr Olivier Courtin has brought light into the world of beauty with myLEDmask. Since the mask went on sale in 2022, myBlend has sold 20,000 units in France alone. This success marks a new era in facial and neck beauty care.
You have devoted your professional life to Clarins for 30 years. How has the perception of beauty evolved?
Olivier Courtin: It has completely changed! When I started out, beauty was very stereotypical, very ‘magazine-like’: impeccable blow-dries, heavy make-up to hide absolutely all imperfections... Today, we want something much more natural. People are more accepting of imperfections, sometimes even embracing them. We use more products, but for a different purpose: to care for the skin, not to hide it. In addition, aesthetic medicine has brought a new approach. Today, we perform at least as many aesthetic procedures (injections, LED, etc.) as we do facelift-type surgeries.
Beauty has become a real driver of self-confidence, which is important in our relationships with others... and with ourselves.

How can we reconcile the pressure of social media and its range of blurring filters with the quest for naturalness?
Olivier Courtin: In the past, it was your mother or a friend who recommended a product to you. Today, it's social media and sometimes influencers who don't really know anything about skin.
Filters create a kind of lie: we portray ourselves in situations that are not real life. But in everyday life, away from screens, people are looking for naturalness. Where once a flaw was unacceptable, today it can be embraced. We are returning to a more authentic, more embodied beauty.
A beauty that is revealed for everyone with red and infrared light?
Olivier Courtin: Yes, because we work on cellular mechanisms that are common to all skin types. What changes is the exposure time: darker skin needs more time to absorb the same amount of energy. That's why there are three pre-recorded programmes according to skin type.
But in principle, the same LED mask can be used on fair or dark skin, on men or women, young or old. What matters is the right dose of energy, delivered at the right rate, as close to the skin as possible.
Can myLEDmask be used on sensitive skin?
Olivier Courtin: In cases of true atopic skin or a diagnosed condition, you should obviously seek the advice of your doctor.

You use two types of light: red and infrared. What exactly are they used for?
Olivier Courtin: Red light is the light of regeneration. It acts on the surface, on the epidermis and the more superficial layers of the dermis. It stimulates fibroblasts and promotes the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. It also improves microcirculation and healing. That's why we can refer to it as ‘anti-ageing’ light. Infrared light, on the other hand, penetrates deeper, reaching the very deepest layers of the dermis and even the subcutaneous area.
By combining the two types of light, we can target almost all the cells involved in skin ageing.
Can a home mask really compete with the LED devices used in aesthetic medicine clinics?
Olivier Courtin: Yes, provided you have the right settings. For LED to be effective, four things are needed: the right wavelength, sufficient energy, the right exposure time and a very short distance between the LED and the skin.
The mask is ideal for this: it moulds to the shape of the face, the distance is almost identical everywhere, and you can repeat the sessions regularly at home, which is crucial.

You talk a lot about visible results. What concrete evidence have you demonstrated about myLEDmask?
Olivier Courtin: I was determined to prove the effectiveness of my mask, and not just red light in general. So we conducted a study on around 100 women, with a skin assessment carried out by dermatologists, followed by a second assessment two months later.
The result: the ‘average age of the dermis’ decreased by about three years. When I say it's proven, it's because independent doctors did the measurements, not me.
We also showed that combining the mask with myBlend skincare products increases its effectiveness by around 30%. Of course, the mask doesn't make you look younger indefinitely, but it does make you look a few years younger... and, more importantly, it helps you stay that way.

The LED mask market has grown enormously. How do you position yourself in this highly competitive environment?
Olivier Courtin: I am aware that there are some very good devices on the market, others that are ineffective, and some that are potentially dangerous. Ultimately, stricter regulations will probably be needed.
I don't comment on other people's products, but I can talk about my mask: I have clinically proven its effectiveness. This requires a heavy infrastructure: studies, teams, laboratories. Few brands can afford this. It's also what allows us to have medical certification in France and the United States (FDA).
There is a lot of talk about the benefits for the skin, but you also mention an impact on well-being...
Olivier Courtin: Yes, and this is an aspect that is still not widely promoted. Many people told me, ‘After using the mask, I feel better, more peaceful, more relaxed.’ We wanted to understand why. So we worked with cardiologists and neurologists, measuring heart rate and brain activity. We showed that red and infrared light have a significant effect on relaxation: after a few weeks, relaxation is twice as fast and deeper.
That's why, for me, the myLEDmask has become a real tool for overall wellbeing.
