Valentin Vacherot has established himself as one of the most promising names in international tennis. He attended school in Monaco, and the Monte-Carlo Country Club, which overlooks Monte-Carlo Beach, welcomed and nurtured him from a very early age. It was there that he distinguished himself through steady progress and unwavering determination. After a college career in the United States, he successfully found his place on the professional circuit. Back in the Principality, the player—who rose to 30th in the world rankings in 2025—enjoys recharging his batteries and training between tournaments.
You’re now the rising star of Monegasque tennis. What does Monaco mean to you?
Monaco is simply home to me. “For me, everything in Monaco has been a journey from start to finish.” I grew up here, went to school here, and spent my days “from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Monte-Carlo Country Club.” It’s a place that shaped who I am.
If you had to describe Monaco in three words?
Safety, fun, and calm.
What are your three favorite places in the Principality?
The Monte-Carlo Country Club, of course, the Larvotto, and the Place du Casino, especially during the holidays.
Monaco, on a tennis court or in a swimsuit?
On a tennis court, especially since three-quarters of the courts here have a sea view; so I get to enjoy the Mediterranean while I work.

What surprises you most here?
The climate. People here boast about 300 days of sunshine a year, but I think it’s even more than that!
A happy moment in the Principality?
The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
Your favorite place?
The Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Where do you like to relax without being disturbed?
On my couch! It’s truly one of my favorite places.
